Course Overview

Instead of the old dull physical meetings which used to be dominated by one or two people, discover how you can involve everybody and become more focused with Zoom.

This session will leave you confident in being able to create an interactive online meeting that will make you never want to go back to a physical version.

What you will learn

In this interactive two-hour session, you will learn:

  1. Breakout Rooms.
Put people into breakout rooms so everybody gets a say. Use broadcast, move people around and recreate a different set next time.
  2. See People.
    Keep slides to a minimum.
  3. Gallery/Speaker View.
Keep slides to 20% and instead interact with the others in the meeting.
  4. Use the Chat Room.
Get responses from everybody, encourage questions and get people to check things offline without having to intervene.
  5. Using the participants box.
Yes/No; Too fast / Too slow; Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down; Hands up.
  6. Hand gestures.
Even better is to get people to physically put their hands up or show numbers of fingers.
  7. Polling.
Create polls, on the spot, to find what the overall view is.
  8. Use shared documents.
Zoom enables you to switch to Google Docs, Google Sheets, Mural, Slido or anything else that takes your fancy. Get a clear viewpoint from 20 people in two minutes, no need to have everybody speak to find out what they are thinking.
  9. Whiteboard.
On the whiteboard or on any document, people can annotate and express their view.
  10. Get people to do stuff.
Stuck in a 3 hour session. Take breaks, get people to do stuff — even star jumps!

The Small Print

All learners will need to install Zoom on their machines. Full technical requirements are on the Zoom website. Your link will be included in your joining instructions once you have booked your place — if you haven't received this email then please contact our team.

Learners should log into the training session 10 minutes before the start time, to ensure that they have downloaded and set up Zoom correctly. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals.

Your active participation is expected: everyone will be heard and seen throughout, just as they would be if we were in a room together. To be heard, hear and seen you will need a microphone, speakers and camera — if you have a modern laptop that’s all you will need. Remember, you’ll need a quiet place to call from and a decent internet connection is a must.

Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions before booking for our payment terms and cancellation policy.

The happy Guarantee

We want everyone to go away from our courses feeling as though they have learnt useful, practical skills that they can use straight away when they go back to work.

If you don’t feel that your training has been useful or if you are unhappy in any way, just get in touch with our Customer Services team within 30 days of the course. We will be happy to offer you additional support and training free of charge to help you to gain the skills you need, or if you’d prefer, a full refund.
