Excel Without Maths

Do you find Excel daunting and worry about mathematical formulas that it often involves? This is the course for you!

In this one-day Excel course, you will explore several Excel features that will help make Excel better and more efficient for you — all without having to use formulas.

This course is currently only available online, delivered through an interactive webinar via GoToTraining. See below for the course outline and upcoming dates.

Note: Some features are not available in 2010 and 2013 versions.

Course Overview

Currently all of our classroom sessions have been suspended until we receive further government guidance. We have converted this classroom course into an interactive webinar, delivered via GoToMeeting.

We have had to adjust the course content slightly so it can be delivered online — please see below for the updated course outline.

This is a full-day course consisting of three 90-minute live online sessions with independent work and breaks in between. Please ensure you block out the whole day in your diary to get the most impact from your learning.

What you will learn

You will explore features in Excel that don't involve any maths but will help you produce reports in a more visually appealing way, such as:

  • How to save time analysing your data with Charts, Pivot Tables and Subtotals, and feel in control
  • Ways to tidy up spreadsheets using Data Validation
  • Loads of exciting tips that will help you become more productive at work

And yes! All without any dreaded maths.

With increased confidence in using these Excel features it should encourage you to learn more features that include formulas. See our Beginner Excel Core Level 1 or Intermediate Excel Core Level 2 Live Online Learning sessions for Excel with formulas.

The Small Print

For Live Online Interactive Learning sessions (webinars)

The course will run remotely for a full day consisting of three 90-minute live online sessions with independent work in between.

All learners will need to either install GoToTraining on their machines or use the Web App in a browser (either Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are supported). Full technical requirements are on the GoTo websiteYour link will be included in your joining instructions once you have booked your place — if you haven't received this email then please contact our team.

Learners should log into the training session 10 minutes before the start time to ensure that they have downloaded and set up GoTo correctly. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals.

Your active participation is expected: everyone will be heard and seen throughout, just as they would be if we were in a room together. To be heard, hear and seen you will need a microphone, speakers and camera – if you have a modern laptop that’s all you will need. Remember, you’ll need a quiet place to call from and a decent internet connection is a must.

Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions before booking for our payment terms and cancellation policy.

For classroom sessions

The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (lunch is served 1pm to 1:45pm — we offer a choice of 3 cold bowl dishes). Please be careful to arrive by 9:45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.

We have made our training centre as safe as possible and will be limiting these sessions to just 4 people to ensure that social distancing can take place. You can learn more about what measures we have put in place on our Terms and Conditions page. We may need to cancel these dates if government advice changes or if there is not enough demand — in these instances we will host the session online, with the same date and timings.

Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions before booking for our payment terms and cancellation policy.

We will be happy to offer you additional support and training free of charge to help you to gain the skills you need, or if you’d prefer, a full refund.

Coronavirus Update

Due to current government guidelines we have temporarily closed our training centre in London. All of our staff are now working remotely, and all classroom training has been postponed while we await further guidance.

We have a fantastic range of interactive webinars delivered by our experienced facilitators, Live Online Learning. We can also adapt any of our existing classroom sessions into webinar format for you.

For the latest government guidance, please visit the gov.uk website.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will advise all clients if the situation changes.
