Last week I had the pleasure of being a practice learner for our 4 day TPMA Certification Essentials course. The delegates taking the course had been working on their skills all week, learning to become effective IT trainers. They did really well, but it was a real eye-opener for me at how hard being an IT trainer really is.

A surprise hit at Happy Workplaces 2014 was the Google-led meditation session in the afternoon. Even Luis Saurez, who was presenting via video link from Belgium, tweeted about the room going quiet, while other delegates said they felt “very chilled” and “we need this at our organisation.” This is the meditation we used at the conference – why not try it at your next meeting?
Last week I was in Barcelona speaking to the international conference of the Dogs Trust, and exploring overwork. I asked a simple question of everybody there: Think of a great idea you’ve had in the last year? Where did you get that idea?
