Course overview

Currently all of our classroom sessions have been suspended until we receive further government guidance. We have converted this classroom workshop into an interactive webinar delivered via Zoom.

We have had to adjust the course content slightly so it can be delivered online — please see below for the updated outline.

In this two-day live online learning programme, you will gain personal insight and develop practical leadership and management skills to create a high performing team. You will develop your coaching skills and how to put your people at the heart of what you do. The learning will be through a combination of interactive workshops delivered live through Zoom, self-guided assignments and complete access to the Happy Leadership Portal of online resources throughout and beyond.

What you will learn

  • Gain confidence in your management approach
  • Focus on helping people achieve their best work
  • Build your personal credibility and trust within your team
  • Hold effective one-to-one meetings with your team members
  • Build positive relationship building with team members
  • Encourage teams to take ownership of work
  • The ability to adapt your approach to the individual and the situation

Themes Covered

  • People working at their best
  • Creating true job ownership
  • Setting boundaries
  • Building your credibility as a manager
  • Identify the key behaviours that build trust with your team
  • Effective one-to-one meetings
  • Communication that builds relationships
  • Active Listening for great working relationships
  • Simple coaching skills to encourage responsibility within your team
  • Positive and constructive feedback
  • Feedback in practice
  • Using the situational leadership model to decide the best approach for an individual
  • Personal action plan beyond the programme

This two-day workshop has been designed for team leaders and supervisors, junior or new managers, and future managers. If you are a more experienced manager, you may find the four-day Happy Workplace Programme to be more appropriate.

The Zoom sessions will be roughly 2 hours long and include a short break. You should reserve out 10am to 4pm in your diary for the learning. This will allow you to join the interactive workshops and have time to reflect and do the assignments in between. We believe immersing yourself in the content for a whole day will create deep learning and lasting impact.
