Course Requirements

You must be confident in using a keyboard, Windows and a mouse. You must have previous experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook – in particular creating a Word document with formatting, creating an Excel spreadsheet with formulae and sending and receiving emails.

This course is for users of an earlier version of Microsoft Office (such as 2003 or 2007) who are upgrading to Office 2016. If you would like to learn how to use the new features of Office 365, such as the Cloud and collaborative working, using Skype for Business and OneDrive, then please see our Office 365 Conversion Course.

If you are not confident using a computer, then please take a look at our Windows 7 Essentials and Windows 10 Essentials courses first (currently only available as a group or one-to-one course).

What You Will Learn

In particular you will be able to :

  • Work with the new Office 2016 User Interface, such as customising Backstage View and the new Ribbons.
  • Use the new features in Word, such as opening PDFs and the Design tab.
  • Use the new features in Excel, such as Flash Fill and Quick Analysis.

Please note, this course is designed to show you how to use features you are already familiar with from previous versions. Also, this is not an Office 365 and working in the Cloud course (although it does mention working in the Cloud). If you would like to learn how to use Office 365 features such as SharePoint, OneNote, Skype for Business and Yammer, please see our Office 365 Conversion course or contact us for details.
