Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent Happy People survey, telling us what one skill you would like to learn or improve this year.
Special congratulations go to Audrey Russell, who was chosen at random as the winner of a £100 John Lewis voucher.
We really appreciate your feedback, and it has helped to shape our Happy People programme for the next quarter.
As a result, we have added three new courses to our Happy People programme – Mindfulness, Assertiveness, and Stress Management. All three will be hosted by our Senior Facilitator, Paul Gapper.
Mindfulness: 2nd June
Mindfulness is a form of meditation, and allowing yourself to be more aware of your surroundings and how you are feeling. Mindfulness exercises can help you to relax, re-energise, and be more creative – both at work and at home.
In this one day programme, Paul will explain what mindfulness is and how it can help you, and will teach you a simple meditation exercise that can be used at any time. Paul will also look at how both pleasant and unpleasant events such as stress and anger are experienced in the body, and how this can affect judgement. He will also discuss how our minds often operate in auto pilot – creating habitual patterns of behaviour.
We have set our next Mindfulness event for the 2nd June – click here to view full course details and to book your place.
Assertiveness: 22nd June
Assertiveness means being able to stand up for your own or other people’s rights in a calm and positive way – without being aggressive.
This one day programme will focus on your own personal experiences, and situations where you are experiencing difficulty. Paul will help you to analyse your current behaviour patterns and how you communicate. You will then learn and practice skills and techniques of assertive communication to express yourself more clearly, openly and confidently in your personal and professional relationships. You will also create your own personal action plan to take away.
We have set our next Assertiveness event for the 22nd June – click here to find out more and book your place.
Stress Management: 12th July
Stress in the workplace reduces productivity, increases management pressures, and can cause illness.
In this one day programme, you will learn how to better manage stress – including learning simple techniques to alleviate stress, learning how to say no, and how to create breathing space in your day. Paul will also help you to create inspiring goals that reflect your values, and will discuss the importance of physical wellbeing and social support when managing stress. You will also create an action plan to take away with you.
Our next Stress Management event will take place on the 12th July – click here to find out more and book your place.
