This course is for anyone who wishes to achieve the ECDL qualification.

  • Module 3 – Word Processing: Starting with Word: Opening, Closing, Creating documents, Moving around
    Text basics: Entering text, Selection, Symbols
    Changing the document display: The Ribbon, Views, Zoom
    Editing: Copying and moving, Find and replace, Undo and redo
    Working with text: Bold, italic and underline, Fonts, Text case, Superscript and subscript
    Changing the layout: Bullets and numbers, Indents, Tabs, Spacing, Page breaks
    Adding extras to your page: Headers and footers, Page numbers, Borders and shading
    Saving shortcuts: Default file location, Saving into other file formats
    Styles and themes: Applying and creating styles
    Pictures and drawing: Adding, moving, resizing and deleting pictures
    Charts: Creating and editing charts
    Preparing for printing: Spelling and grammar, Margins, Orientation, Paper size
    Printing: Print preview, printing multiple copies, printing selected pages
    Tables: Creating, editing and formatting tables
    Mail merge: Creating a mail merge letter, merging with recipients.
  • Module 4 – Spreadsheets: Starting Excel: Starting, Closing and opening spreadsheets, Using help
    Creating worksheets: Selecting, Editing, Undo and redo, Using sheets
    Saving: Saving spreadsheets, Saving in other formats
    Editing a spreadsheet: Inserting and deleting cells, Resizing, Freezing rows and columns
    Viewing worksheets: Changing view and zoom
    Formatting cells: Changing colours and borders
    Formatting data; Bold, italic and underline, Fonts, Colours, Changing number format
    Copying and moving: Copying and moving data and sheets
    Working with data: Using autofill, Find and replace, Sorting, Autosum
    Formulae: Entering calculations, Absolute and mixed cell references
