By the end of the course, you will understand what search engines are looking for in websites and be able improve your web site to increase its ranking. We can’t promise you will get it to top slot but should improve your position substantially.

Exploring search engines: What gets listed high and what doesn’t.
Where does your site rank? How does Google see your site?
What do you want, who is your audience, setting goals.
Keyword research: Finding keywords that are easy to target.
Session 2
URL, Page names, meta-descriptions, headings, links, anchor text.
Session 3
Writing for the web: Title, Description, Body. Adapting for the search engines
Analysing your content & find out how to improve it.
Session 4
Introduction to Google Analytics; Google Webmaster Central; Sitemap; Creating an action plan
The ‘Small Print’
The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (light cold buffet 1pm to 1:45pm). Please be careful to arrive by 9.45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.
