This course is for people wishing to take the next step on from the basics of Photoshop who are particularly interested in working with photographic images. You will be encouraged to be creative: once you have mastered the techniques, this product is only limited by your creative potential!
You can bring your own digital photographs in to work on in the Workshop.
What you will learn
In particular you will be able to:
- Modify and save selections.
- Use quick masks to modify selections.
- Combine two or more images to remove unwanted objects.
- Produce stunning effects by using layers and blending modes.
- Apply adjustments using an Adjustment Layer.
- Correct lens distortions and colour casts.
- Distort images using the liquefy tool.
- Sharpen your image to give a professional looking image.
- Ensure your image is at its optimum by controlling levels, curves and colour layers.
Requirements
Participants require a basic understanding of Layers, the History Palette and the main tools in Photoshop.
Timetable
Session 1
More Selecting Tools: Modifying Selections, Quick Mask Mode, Alpha Channels, Save and Load selections.
Session 2
Adjustment layers and Layer Masks: Layer Masks, Adjustment Layers, Layer Sets, Blend Modes, Blend If.
Session 3
Filters and Liquefy: Create effects using Filters, Filters on a Separate Layer, Fading Filter Effects, Lens Correction Filters, the Liquify Tool.
Session 4
Finishing: Smart Sharpen, Hi Pass Filter, Levels and Curves Layers, Tone Correction, Correcting Colour Casts, Retouching and Manipulating Colour.
The ‘Small Print’
The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (light cold buffet 1pm to 1:45pm). Please be careful to arrive by 9.45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.
