This course is for anyone who has never used Photoshop before.
Aims
By the end of the course, you will be confident in using the essential features of Photoshop to manipulate images and photographs. You can bring your own scanned images to work on during the Workshop. If you require help with these images, please do not hesitate to contact us for advice. Be prepared for a fun and creative two days!
What you will learn

- Import an image / Retouch scanned images / adding text to images.
- Produce stunning effects by using layers and filters.
- Create photo montages, Composite images.
- Add colour to black and white images.
- Be familiar with processing colour and printing issues.
- Be confident when dealing with Commercial Printers.
- Be familiar with other products to enhance Photoshop’s functionality.
- Unleash your creative potential!
Requirements
Delegates must be confident in using Windows and a mouse.

Introduction and Basics: Input/Output & Resolution, Scanning, File Formats & Colour Modes.
Session 2
Getting Started: Screen, Toolbox & Palettes, Views & Zooming, Selection Tools.
Session 3
Working on Scanned Images: Cleaning up images, Rubber Stamp.
Session 4
Working with Layers, Special Effects.
Session 5
Recap & tips, Inverse, Feathering a Selection, Layers.
Session 6
Painting & Drawing.
Session 7
Working with Type: Creating, Editing, Deleting & Moving, Special Effects.
Session 8
Workshop – time to consolidate the things learnt over the 2 days.
The ‘Small Print’
The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (light cold buffet 1pm to 1:45pm). Please be careful to arrive by 9.45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.
