This course is for anyone needing to use Sage Line 50 to record their accounts, or who are upgrading from an earlier version of Sage.
The module used will be Financial Controller, but it would also be suitable for users of Accountant, or Accountant Plus. Users of Sage Instant could also attend, but they should bear in mind that there will be some small differences in the features.
Aims
By the end of the course you will be confident in using the essential features of Sage.
What you will learn
In particular you will be able to:
- Plan a chart of accounts to produce reports in the format you will need.
- Set up customer and supplier records, and process invoices to them.
- Deal with receipts and payments, bank, cash and credit card transactions.
- Process accruals and pre-payments.
- Produce standard financial management reports.
- Complete a VAT return.
- Reconcile your bank account.
Requirements
Delegates must be confident in using Windows and a mouse and at least one other Windows package (for example Word or Excel). Delegates should have previous experience of accounts and book-keeping to Trial Balance at least. Delegates should have sound book-keeping experience, and understand the terminology and principles of book-keeping and accounts to trial balance at least.

The ‘Small Print’
The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (light cold buffet 1pm to 1:45pm). Please be careful to arrive by 9.45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.
