Word 2013/2016 Core Level 2 – Long Documents & Reports

By the end of the course you will be confident in using Styles to automatically format parts of your document.  You will use Styles to create a Table of Contents and to navigate around a document.  You will create sophisticated graphics.  You will also be able to customise the layout of pages in a long document, use cross references and reviewing tools. It is suitable for users of both Word 2013 and Word 2016.

Course Requirements

Delegates should be confident in creating, saving and finding Word documents as well as entering, formatting and editing text.

This course is designed for PC users of Word 2013 and 2016. It is also available for users of Word 2007/2010 – please ensure you attend the course that is appropriate for your version of Word.

Understand Text and Paragraph formatting; Create Bulleted and Numbered Lists; Use pre-set Styles; Create your own Styles; Understand what else Styles can be used for.

Session 2

Change page layout; Add Headers and Footers; Add Page Numbers; Use Section Breaks.

Session 3

Add and edit Clip Art and Shapes; Draw with Shapes and Lines; Create Diagrams with Smart Art; Create Charts and Graphs; Create Tables.

Session 4

Create a Table of Contents; Use Cross References, Bookmarks, Hyperlinks, Footnotes and Endnotes; Work with more than one document; Use Track Changes to review a document; Compare 2 documents.


Please note that while this course covers Word 2016, it is not an Office 365 and working in the Cloud course (although it does mention working in the Cloud). The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (light cold buffet 1pm to 1:45pm). Please be careful to arrive by 9.45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.
